) et qui furent en leur temps assez estimés, nous citerons : The Negroland of the Arabs (Londres, 1841, in-8); the World surveyed in the XIX century (Londres, 1845-1848, 2 vol. in-8); Claudius Ptolemy and the Nile (1854, in-8); Dr Livingstone's Reise kritisch und kommentarisch beleuchtet (1855); the Memoir on the Lake regions of east Africa reviewed (1864, in-8); Dr Livingstone and the Royal geographical Society (1874, in-8); Physical geography (1816, in-8). Il a édité le voyage de Drake en 1595 (1849). Il était membre de la Société royale de géographie de Londres.
